One of the traditions from years past was a large pot of Chili and the whole family getting together for some Halloween fun. Dad started collecting Halloween decorations and setting them up throughout October when my sisters and I were quite young. As his collection grew so did the audience he attracted. Along with the decorations on the house and around the yard Dad also set up a tarp across the carport and a strobe light for a bit of shadow theater usually on the gory end. One shadow character chasing the other with a foam ax or other weapons of shadow destruction. Dad kept up the Halloween fun for his grandchildren to participate and a few of his great-grandchildren. He has now passed that torch on to my nephew, who is currently setting up his first haunted Maze. I borrowed this picture from my nephews facebook page TriWood Hallow and happily found my Dad is helping to set up the graveyard for this years family fun!
This year I am creating a soup to take to my hubby’s work for a soup tasting day. With it being Halloween I have decided to do “Eye of Newt Soup”. I picked this soup for its fun fall colors and also when I saw it online it just made me think of a witches brew. My Recipe started with Italian Wedding soup and with a few modifications, it became our Halloween brew.
